In 2006, Always started, the “Always Keeping Girls in School Program” in Sub-Saharan Africa to provide free puberty education & a long term supply of period products to those in need.
Today, the progam operates in seven countries (Tanzania, Rwanda, Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda and Kenya). It has reached over 170,000 young people and donated over 11 million pads to help them stay in school. As part of the program, Always also trains local teachers to provide ongoing puberty & period support to students.
